The coalition Georgian Dream that won the parliamentary elections

plans to introduce a parliamentary body responsible for

military affairs. This was announced by Irakli Sesiashvili, the candidate

for the head of the committee for defense and national security.

He said that in the last years "non-professionals have destroyed the

defence system" and that the situation in the army is worse than

expected, VZGLYAD cites Sesiashvili.

"The offices of the highest ranks look excellent but that cannot be

said about the military regiments," Sesiashvili claimed, adding that

the system will be "depoliticized."

In addition, the parliament will create a civil council for

communications with the military.

As previously reported by VK, the candidate for Minister of Defense

Irakly Alasania stressed the need to reform the entire

military system.
