Russian Foreign Ministry to monitor the investigation of arms supplies to Syria

An official representative of Russian Foreign Ministry, Alexander

Lukashevich, said today that Moscow will attentively follow the

investigation into an incident of arms being supplied to the Syrian opposition

from the port of Turkshi.

According to him, there is confirmed information that Libya was

supplying arms to the Syrian opposition through the Turkish port. The Russian

Foreign Ministry insists that the international sanction regime should

be observed and that it is necessary to prevent it being violated in the

future.

Lukashevich also expressed his satisfaction at the steps taken by the UN

Security Council in the investigation.
