Cossack regiments will be used to protect military objects,

including those located abroad, Alexander Beglov, the Russian federal envoy responsible

for Cossack affairs said.

He noted that the Cossacks will protect only state, regional and

municipal property, but not private businesses, Interfax reports.

According to Beglov, agreement has already been reached with the

Defense Ministry, which is ready to propose several objects with

militarized security, and with Dmitry Rogozin, who can use the

Cossacks to protect industrial military objects, including those

located abroad.

As VK previously reported, when

Vladimir Putin was prime minister he signed a decree that allowed the registered

Cossacks to create security firms.
