Georgian Dream leader does not want autonomy to violate state interests

Bidzina Ivanishvili of the Georgian Dream coalition, winner of the parliamentary polls, has commented on the idea of President Mikheil Saakashvili to decentralize power.

Ivanishvili approved the idea of autonomies, but warned against violations of state interests. He added that the idea was provoked by strives for a democratic image.

Saakashvili proposed decentralization of power and direct election of mayors, heads of administrations, local autonomies and governors at the parliament yesterday.
