Second International Song Contest of Magomayev ends

Moscow has concluded the Second International Song Contest of Muslim Magomayev of October 20-21 today. Over 200 singers participated. 17 singers from 10 countries of the world passed preliminary hearings. Singers perform opera and pop songs on the first day, the second day is dedicated to the works of USSR People’s Artist Muslim Magomayev.
Professor Tamara Sinyavskaya, USSR People’s Artist and a solo singer of the Bolshoi Theater, was the head judge of the contest.
Jenisbek Piyazov (Uzbekistan) won the grand prix. The first premium was won by Sergey Plyusin (Russia), second by Anatoly Slivko (Belarus), third by Irina Kostina (Russia) and Bladimir Boldt (Germany).
The judges includes Yelena Obraztsova, People’s Artist of the USSR, Laima Vaykule (Latvia-Russia), Farhad Shamsi ogly Badalbeyli (Azerbaijan), Dmitry Bertman, Vincenzo de Vivo (Italy) and Lev Leshenko.
The Academic Big Concert Orchestra of Y.V. Silantyev took part in the concert.
Aras Agalarov, founder of the Cultural and Musical Heritage Foundation of Muslim Magomayev, said that the grand prix was worth $25000, first premium $20000, second $10000 and third $5000.
