Russia is actively supporting the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement, the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in an interview to radiocompany 'Mir', the text of which can be found on the ministry's website, ITAR-TASS reports.


Lavrov recalled the sixth meeting of the Russian President Dmitry Medvedev with his Armenian and Azerbaijani counterparts at the recent economic forum in St. Petersburg. Lavrov hopes the council of OSCE foreign ministers in Alma-Ata that in July will provide the opportunity for a meeting with the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan and other representatives of the Minsk Group countries.


Concerning the Transdniester settlement, the Russian foreign minister asked about who is making the decisions in Kishinev. The alliance that came to power has failed to formulate a single position. The president's declarations sound as though he doesn“t agree with the existence of the Moldavian nation. Moldavia will hold the next elections to provide political stability, after which we can come to conclusions about the plans of Kishinev.
