On Monday the head of NATO, Anders Fogh Rasmussen, said that Turkey

had not asked NATO to place a Patriot missile complex on the border

with Syria.  "Had we got this request, the allies would have

considered it," RIA Novsoti cites the words of Rasmussen.

Turkey previously sent reports that it had requested to place Patriots

twice - during the first and second wars in Iraq.
