Azerbaijani president congratulates Barack Obama

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has congratulated Barack Obama on his re-election to the post of President of the United States, News.az reports.

"I warmly congratulate you on your re-election to the post of President of the United States of America. Your victory in the elections is a real expression of the trust and confidence of the friendly Azerbaijani people in you and support for your domestic and foreign political line," the letter from the Azerbaijani President reads.

"Azerbaijan and the United States are united in all spheres with sincere friendship and mutual relations of cooperation. Our joint participation in providing energy security of the world, combating international terrorism and achieving peace and stability in areas of conflict has brought our interstate relations to a level of strategic partnership," Ilham Aliyev writes.

"I believe that during your next presidential term, our strategic partnership, which is based on mutual interests and common values, will expand further and consolidate, and close cooperation of our countries in international security, economic development and democratic reforms will be continued," the letter reads.
