Cossacks to start patrolling Moscow streets
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThe Central Cossack Society will soon start monitoring car parking, cases of illegal trade and maintain order at recreation places. Cossacks will have no right to detain or fine violators, Izvestia reports.
Their work will be voluntary. The only benefit they will get is free tickets for all means of public transport.
Cossacks will be patrolling the Belorussky Train Station, Tverskaya Street, Mayakovskaya Subway Station. Over 600 Cossacks will take part and will soon be integrated in Moscow volunteers’ services.
Formation of Cossack patrols was initiated by Chieftain of the Central Cossack Forces Valery Nalimov. The Krasnodar Territory has been discussing formation of Cossack groups. Volunteers have been organized in Dagestan. Astrakhan is forming international patrols.
