Chechnya and Azerbaijan to sign cooperation deal

Chechen Leader Ramzan Kadyrov is on a visit to Azerbaijan where the two sides will sign cooperation agreements. Kadyrov noted that Chechnya was interested in cooperating in construction, education and culture.

The Chechen delegation laid flowers at the memorial of Heydar Aliyev, visited the Alley of Sheikhs and will visit the State Flag Square and the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

Kadyrov met Azerbaijani Speaker of Parliament Ogtay Asadov. The latter reiterated that Russia was a co-chair of the OSCE Minsk for the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process and expressed hope for resolution of the conflict.

Kadyrov noted that Azerbaijan was a brother state of Chechnya and added that Chechnya had faced similar problems, such as refugees, civil casualties.

The Chechen leader will meet Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Prime Minister Artur Rasi-zade and the head of the Muslim Administration of the Caucasus Sheikh ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazadeh.

The Chechen delegation will visit the Azerbaijani History Museum and the Icehri Sheher area.
