US will not allow Russia to interfere in Trans-Caspian

Lynn Tracey, Deputy Assistant for Southern and Central Asia of the US State Department, said at the Turkmenistan Oil and Gas Conference in Ashkhabad that the US government will not allow Russia to interfere in the realization of the Trans-Caspian Gas Pipeline project.

No country can forbid Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan to build the pipeline under the Caspian Sea, she believes.

Patricia Flor, EU Special Representative for Central Asia, said that the EU have wanted to purchase Turkmen gas for over 30 years.
