Ministry of Oil and Gas: Turkmen gas reserves exceed 50 trillion cubic meters

Turkmen natural gas reserves amount to 50.8 trillion cubic meters, the
Turkmen Minister of Oil and Gas, Kakageldy Abdullayev said today.

At an International Conference titled "The main trends in the development of
oil and gas industry and international cooperation", Abdullayev said
that "Turkmenistan is interested in providing sustainable development
and strengthening energy cooperation with all countries on the basis
of equal partnership and mutual benefit," RIA Novosti reports.

The minister emphasized that Turkmenistan's energy strategy is aimed
at implementing economically-sound projects and securing environmental
protection.

The total energy potential of the country is 71.64 billion tons in oil
equivalent, Abdullayev said.
