Chechen militant caught in Bashkiria

The police have detained Salambek Bachayev (Chechnya), 32, in Bashkiria, suspected of killing three Russian soldiers 12 years ago, RIA Novosti reports.

He is charged with murder, robbery, theft of weapons, ammo and explosives. He may be sentenced for life.

Bachayev and a militant group of Sayd-Emin Dadayev killed three soldiers in the Naursky District of Chechnya in March 2001.
