Militant leader killed in Dagestan

Four militants were killed in two separate incidents during clashes between security forces and gunmen in the Khasavyurt region of Dagestan, local investigators told RIA Novosti on Friday.

"Two fighters were eliminated in a special operation in the suburbs of Khasavyurt, and two more died in a car in a village in the Khasavyurt region of the republic," an investigator said.

One of the men was identified as Artur Khapiulayev, the head of the Khasavyurt separatist group.
