Militant groups neutralized in Kazakhstan

Kazakh special services have neutralized 7 "terrorist groups" in 2012, said Interior Minister Kalmukhambet Kasymov, Trend reports.

The minister said that 23 cases had been initiated. Terrorist groups were neutralized in the Aktyub, Western-Kazakh and Atyrau Regions. 18 militants were arrested.

Kasymov added that amendments to the Criminal Code last year lift parole release for people commanding organized crime groups, financing them and recruiting minors.
