Israel will not occupy Gaza Strip - ambassador

Israel has no intention of occupying the Gaza Strip. It is also trying to minimize civilian casualties, Israeli Ambassador to Russia Dorit Golender told Ekho Moskvy on Tuesday.

Israle has recently started bombarding militant facilities in the Gaza Strip in response to continous missile attacks by Hamas.

Representatives of Hamas earlier claimed that Israel was planning a ground invasion.
