New Georgian defense minister starts reorganizing army

Irakly Alasania, Georgian Defense Minister and Vice Premier, has started reorganizing the military by appointing new authorities for the National Guard Department and military police, Vzflyad reports.


He proposed to merge the air and naval forces, improve missile systems and reserve. Alasania said on October that the Defense Ministry had started composing a new military doctrine with account of the war with Russia in 2008.
