Valentina Matviyenko re-elected as chairman of CIS Inter-parliamentary Assembly

unanimously re-elected today as chairman of the CIS
Inter-Parliamentary Assembly, RIA Novosti reports.
The Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the CIS Member States adopts laws
as well as bringing the legislation of the CIS into accordance with
international standards. It was established on March 27, 1992 in
Alma-Ata. The Inter-Parliamentary Assembly was established as an
advisory body to draft legal documents of mutual interest. It includes
Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan,
Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.
