SOCAR to have 160 petroleum stations running in Switzerland

Exxon Mobil (USA) has allowed the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR) to expand business in Switzerland to 160 petroleum stations launched by mid-2013.

The first petroleum station of SOCAR in Switzerland was launched in Zurich in September. Exxon Mobil passed assets of Esso Switzerland worth $330 million to SOCAR. The latter also purchased Esso Schweiz GmbH, a Swiss branch of Exxon Mobil, in November 2011.

SOCAR has a fuel-distribution network in Switzerland, a gas factory in Wangen bei Olten and fuels planes in Geneva and Zurich.
