London hosts Caspian Corridor Conference

The Lancaster House in London has opened the Caspian Corridor Conference today, organized by CityUK, the International Bank of Azerbaijan and Asia House.

The talks are attended by British former Secretary of Foreign Trade and Investments Elizabeth Simons, Director General of IISS John Chipman, head of the UK DBIS Lord Marland, head of the State Committee for Securities of Azerbaijan Rufat Aslanly, winner of the Pulitzer Prize Daniel Ergin, Azerbaijani Ambassador to the UK Fahraddin Gurbanov, chairman of the board of the International Bank of Azerbaijan Jakhangir Gajiyev, SOCAR Vice president Rafig Guseynzade.

Attendants will discuss trade, innovations, infrastructure, energy, banking, sports, education. Former state secretary for education Charles Clark and Boris Becker will attend the talks.

Caspian states will have a GDP growth of 5-7% in the next years. Its gas exporters are Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan are the exporters of the region.

Azerbaijani conductor Yalchin Adygezalov will perform works of composer Fikret Amirov at the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra to mark the 20th anniversary of the International Bank of Azerbaijan.
