"Sooner or later Azerbaijan will liberate its territories," the head of the
Foreign Relations Department of the Presidential Administration, Novruz
Mammadov, said in an interview with local media. According to him, the
OSCE is interested in continuing the peace talks, as evidenced by the
visits of the OSCE Minsk Group to the region. "Baku is a supporter of
dialogue, but Azerbaijan will not allow Armenia to deliberately delay
the peace talks," the representative of the presidential
administration said. However, he supported continuing the peace
talks at presidential level.
In the opinion of Novruz Mammadov, the Minsk Group finds that the
stagnation in the peace talks has caused tensions in the conflict
zone. However, the Azerbaijani side believes that the more important
cause of the conflict is the tension around the airport, illegally being
built by Armenia in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan.
Novruz Mammadov noted that the co-chairs of the OSCE said that this move
by Armenia is undesirable from the point of view of regional security.
According to him, instead of making statements that do not affect the
result, the OSCE should put pressure on the occupying country. The
bias of the international community with regard to the occupation
policy of Armenia cannot change the position of official Baku, and
sooner or later Azerbaijan will liberate its territories, the
head of the Foreign Relations of the Presidential Administration of
Azerbaijan said.
