Turkey will deliver 500 mln cubic metres of gas to Nakhchyvan

Ankara and Baku made an arrangеment about transport of 500 mln cubic meters of gas to Nakhchyvan, reports Turan, referring to the Sabah newspaper and sources in the Turkish Energy Ministry. The Azerbaijani president asked the Turkish government about transportation of gas from "Stage-1" of the gas-field development "Shah-Deniz" during the signing af a gas agreement in Istanbul on the 7th of June 2010.
The paper says that "the Autonomous Republic of Nakhchyvan is under a guarantee from Turkey in case of blockade. Ankara will transport 500 mln cubic meters of gas without a transit fee. For that purpose, the Igdyr-Nakhchyvan pipeline will be built". Earlier Azerbaijan announced that it will cover the costs of constructing a 50 km-long section of pipeline.
