Russia increases quota for Dagestani conscripts

The Russian Defense Ministry has increased the quota for Dagestani conscripts to 4,000 for the autumn-spring draft of 2013, as a result of Dagestani Leader Magomesalam Magomedov's visit to Moscow and meeting with Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu, Izvestia reports.

250 Dagestanis will form a battalion of the internal troops.

Magomedov said earlier that the number of Dagestanis willing to serve was growing every year, but drafts kept reducing, because the conscripts ha a reputation of being uncontrolable. The Dagestani leader urged his natives to be disciplined and obedient in the Armed Forces.
