Egypt prevents Iranian Foreign Minister from visiting Palestine

Egypt has repeatedly ignored the request of Akbar Salehi to visit the
Palestinian territories, the Iranian Foreign Minister said today,
criticizing the Egyptian
authorities on the matter.

The Iranian Foreign Minister recalled that a few weeks ago he declared
his willingness to visit Palestine in order to show support and
solidarity with the Palestinian people. At a D-8 summit in Pakistan he once
again talked about his desire at a meeting with the Prime Minister of

Egypt Hesham Gandil. The Egyptian administration has not responded to
Salehi's requests yet.
