Over 400 Kurdish militants killed in Iraq by Turkey in 2012

The Turkish Defense Ministry has rounded up its foreign counter-terrorism operation for January-December 2012. Defense Minister Ismet Yilmaz says that 427 members of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) have been killed, Sabah reports.

Turkey had 55 trans-border operations during the said period.

Turkey disarmed 716 militants of the PKK in January-September 2012, including 496 killed, 21 wounded, 44 detained and 155 gave up. Turkish security forces had six mass operations and 19 local operations against PKK terrorists in January-September 2012.
