President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev said that the Kazakh
language must eventually become the main language in Kazakhstan, will unite
everyone in the country and make everyone equal. However, the
president added that " everyone should know the Russian language and
should not lose it."
Arguing about the importance of the Russian language for the Kazakhs,
Nazarbayev said that Kazakh children need to learn Russian, because
"through Russian, Kazakhs accessed world culture" and because the Russian
language has been present in Kazakhstan for centuries.
The head of Kazakhstan added that Russian is "a great language, the
language of great writers," CA-News reports.
