Three bridges to be opened in Chechnya

Chechen Deputy Minister for Roads Yakha Makhmatkhajiyeva said that Chechnya will open the longest bridge in the Khangish-Yurt Village to connect the Shelkovsky and Gudermessky Districts.
It will be 264 meters long, 13.5 meters wide. Its construction started in 2011 according to the program for socio-economic development of 2008-2012. It required straightening of the River Terek flow. The river was flooding Azamat-Yurt and Khangish-Yurt from time to time. The bridge has two dikes.
The second bridge to open I located on the 12th km of the Shali Highway. It has access to the Grozny – Shatoy – Itum-Kali road. It was built by Soip-mulla in the late 19th century. The River Argun stream was moved tens of meters, increasing the bridge length by 50 meters to 174 meters. It will improve traffic between the Shalinsky and Groznensky Districts.
A bridge will soon open on the 656th km of the M-29 Kavkaz Highway at Chechen-Aul. It was built in 1959. It is 50 meters long and restored after war in 2002. It collapsed after six years due to many military vehicles passing. Dual bridges were built with a length of about 173 meters and width of 28 meters.
