Rosatom to invest $20 billion in Turkey

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced arrival of investments of Rosatom to the Akkuyu nuclear power plant. $2.5 billion will be invested at the first stage, $20 billion in total.

$700 million have been invested and $800 million more will arrive in the near future.

Akkuyu will have four WWER-1200 reactors, according to a deal signed in May 2010. Each will produce 1200 MW. Blocks will be launched one-by-one every year.

Turkish Minister for Energy Taner Yildiz said that the power plant will be launched before 2019 and construction of another one will start before 2023.
