1 in 5 Turkish women suffers from breast cancer

One in five Turkish women suffers from breast cancer, Turkish Haber TV channel reported on Wednesday with reference to the Turkey-Europe Surgery Center.

According to the center, the number of women suffering from breast cancer has increased in recent years. The death rate among them is 50 per cent of the total number of ill people.

According to the Turkish Health Ministry's statistics, in 2011 the number of cancer sufferers in the country hit 400,000, and every year 150,000 people have symptoms of the disease.
