Turkey will not hold early elections
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThe Turkish premier Recep Erdogan has announced that the ruling party of "Juastice and development" is not planning to hold early elections, RIA Novosti reports.
The parliamentary polls are scheduled for July 2011. Opposition pushes for early elections, saying government doen't have political will to resolve all the problems. The party headed by Edrdogan has been ruling the country since 2002. During the last polls the party won 47% of votes and has formed singleparty government.
The Turkish premier also pointed that he is absolutly the constitutional reforms will be supported by the Turkish population at the referendum, scheduled for Septemeber 12.
"Our people will bury the military coup constitution by saying "yes" at the referendum," noted Erdogan. The Turkish opposition are making a stand against the constitutional reforms, though they provide for further democratization of the country.
