Turkey sets dialogue with EU

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmed Davutoglu, the High Representative of the EU for International and Security Affairs Catherine Ashton, European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Stefan Fule and the state minister and head of the delegation at negotiations with the EU, Egemen Bagysh, were present at the meeting.
The sessions of Turkey-EU political dialogue have replaced the former political format, after the Lisbon Treaty of December 1st 2009 came into force. The current session is the first session of political dialogue at the ministerial level with the EU.
Catherine Ashton expressed satisfaction with Turkey's active foreign policy. Stefan Fule said that they will hold new negotiations this year if Turkey fulfills the necessary conditions.
