Dog from south Russia waits for owner to return

A dog named Mukhtar belonging to Faina Chuprina in Krymsk is still waiting for her to return, even though she died in the flood of July. Locals compare the dog to Hachiko who had waited for his owner for 7 years, RIA Novosti reports.

Neighbours say that the dog has been guarding the ruins of his house ever since the flood. It stares at the place where the gate used to be, expecting the owner to return.

Locals bring it food. It does not eat while anyone is nearby, neighbour Lidia Kadyrova says.
