TANAP realization to start in 2014

President of the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR) Rovnag Abdullayev said that construction of the trans-Anatolia Gas Pipeline (TANAP) will start in 2014.

20% of TANAP belongs to BOTAS and TPAO and 80% to SOCAR. The latter plans to sell 29% of shares to Statoil, BP (12% each) and Total (5%).

TANAP will be used to transport gas from Shah Deniz to Europe through Turkey. It will have a minimal capacity of 16 billion cubic meters annually. About 6 billion cubic meters of gas will be sent to Turkey and the rest to Europe.
