Turkey to start e-visa for foreign nationals

An electronic visa project for foreign nationals coming to Turkey is nearing completion, Deputy Foreign Minister Naci Koru said today, Hurriyet reports.

Speaking at the Informatics Summit 2012 in Ankara, Koru said the system would enable foreign nationals to obtain Turkish visas online from their houses or offices, adding that it would go into service in January.

“Payments and visa fees will be paid online. This will ease the workload of Turkey’s overseas missions,” the deputy foreign minister said.
