Turkish Energy Minister Taner Yildiz has announced Ankara won't take part in the Russia-led South Stream gas pipeline project, saying it favoured the South Nabucco and Transanatolian (TANAP) projects, the Voice of Russia reports.

He added, however, that Turkey was also interested in bigger imports of Russian natural gas due to the rising level of internal consumption.

It’s still not clear whether Turkey is planning to get more Russian gas via Blue Stream, a major trans-Black Sea gas pipeline, or via the land pipeline running across Bulgaria.
