Former Georgian prime minister interrogated again
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaSecretary-General of the United National Movement Vano Merabishvili arrived today at the Georgian Interior Ministry to be interrogated again. Before entering the building, he gave a little comment for reporters.
"Given the fact that, the day before yesterday, parliament passed a special resolution and released from prisons agents of the Russian intelligence services, terrorists, those who undermine Georgian statehood, it is logical that people who fought against them are going to be interrogated," Georgia Online quoted Merabishvili as saying.
Merabishvili was questioned by the investigation on December 1, the next day after he submitted a forged ID document to the passport control service of Tbilisi airport. He was in an official delegation leaving for Armenia.
After about five hours of questioning, Merabishvili told journalists that by launching legal proceedings against the political opponents, the authorities were trying to silence the opposition.
“We will continue our daily work,” Merabishvili said. “We will dedicate all of our time… to offering Georgian society those proposals, which should make life in Georgia much better,” former prime minister said.
