Russian army gets its first field spiritual and educational complex

The first Russian army spiritual and educational complex was opened
at the Alagyaz Russian military base in Armenia, Interfax reports.
The complex consists of a stationary Orthodox church and an adjoining
classroom. The latter will host spiritual and educational
lectures, classes on social and public training, cultural and leisure
activities.
The field church is dedicated to the Holy Martyr Mercury of Smolensk,
who lived in the time of the Mongol yoke and is considered one of the
patrons of the Russian army. The church is designed for 100 people.
Its construction was funded by voluntary contributions of the
Russian military compound.
