Chechen leader does not expect apocalypse

Chechen Leader Ramzan Kadyrov has expressed surprise that many Muslims were expecting apocalypse stated in the Maya Calendar and noted that their supplies of candles would not help if it really happens.

Kadyrov ordered the mufti’s office to give the population explanations and tell it that no one knows about the date of apocalypse.

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said on Friday that he did not believe in apocalypse happening in 2012.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has not given comments on the topic yet.
