EU needs Azerbaijan

Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bildt said after a meeting with his Azerbaijani counterpart Elmar Mammadyarov today that Azerbaijan was at a center of the problem of Afghanistan and Iran, which is why stability in the country was essential for the EU.

Head of the Polish Presidential Administration Jacek Michalowski noted that improving relations with Azerbaijan was important for the EU to grant it access to European markets.

Bulgarian Foreign Minister Nikolay Mladenov added that his country gave Azerbaijan a high rating in supplying Europe with energy resources. Bulgaria was interested in TANAP realization, he reminded.
