Turkmenistan does not want to fly to Baku directly

Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan have not yet reached an agreement on establishing direct flights between Baku and Ashgabat. According to Azerbaijani sources, the Turkmen government refuses to even consider the issue.

"Azerbaijan has repeatedly offered Turkmenistan a cooperation agreement in the field of air transport, offering to organize direct air links between Baku and Ashgabat and between Baku and the port of Turkmenbashi (Krasnovodsk), but so far without any successes," ABC quotes its source in the Azerbaijani government.

During a recent meeting of the CIS Heads, Turkmen representatives signed an agreement on direct air links with Armenia.
