Doctor accused of killing Makhachkala chief of police taken to Vladikavkaz to be tortured, his lawyer says

The lawyer of Marat Gunashev, an anaesthetist at the 2nd city hospital
in Makhachkala, who is accused of killing the chief of the local
police in 2010, has said that the physician had been convoyed to
Vladikavkaz without any warning. The lawyer is afraid that he was
taken there to be tortured.

The lawyer said that the day before he discussed with his client
filing an appeal against the ruling of the Leninsky court of
Makhachkala, which put Gunashev under arrest on December 8 for until
January 27.
