Russian President Vladimir Putin will focus on integration of the post-Soviet space using the CIS, Customs Union, EurAsEC, CSTO and the Russian-Belarusian Allied State. Ukraine is expected to join the process, Kommersant reports.

Authors of the new concept of Russian foreign policy say that the world has become more instable and unpredictable since 2008 for five reasons.

They include the global crisis, attempts of western states to interfere in domestic affairs of other countries, weakening of the UN and its settlement of conflicts via the UNSC, trans-border challenges (threats to information space) and re-ideologization of international relations.

The concept needs the president’s signature, which may be put before the end of December. Previous concepts were passed in 2000 and 2008. They were topical during presidency of Vladimir Putin and Dmitry Medvedev respectively.
