Israel praises Georgian PM’s idea to make Chanukah state holiday

Israel has praised the idea of Georgian Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili to make Chanukah an official holiday in Georgia.
Ivanishvili attended the Chanukah celebrations at the Central Synagogue in Tbilisi. He reminded that Georgia had had friendly ties with Jews for over 2600 years and expressed hope for further development of relations.
The ceremony was attended by leaders of the Jewish community in Georgia and dozens of honorable guests from Israel.
Israel has also praised Georgia for passing the bill on protection of foreign investments. Israeli compatriots from Georgia believe that the bill will boost Israeli investments in Georgian economy in the first months of 2013.
