Turkey to build spaceport

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that a new spaceport will be built, a facility that only 11 countries in the world have.

The PM noted the role of the Göktürk-2 satellite launch in space industry.

Satellite construction is part of the state program to provide the Armed Forces with advanced equipment produced by national manufacturers. Turkey is 50% self-sufficient in the military field.
