Russia sets a record for power consumption

For a second consecutive day Russia has set records for energy

consumption. Today at 10:00 another maximum electric power consumption

was recorded- 156.402 GWh, 66 MW higher than the recorded maximum.

A new record was set in Moscow - just before 18:00 at an average daily

temperature of -17.1 the power consumption of Moscow Energy was

102 MW higher than Tuesday's record, reaching 17,694 MW.

The main reason for the increase of power consumption was, of course,

the unusually cold December, as the average monthly temperature was

9.6 degrees lower than the norm.
