Lenin to "personally oversee" renovation of Mausoleum

Lenin's body remains in the mausoleum until the repairs are completed on April 30, adviser to the Head of the Federal Security Services Sergei Devyatov told journalists today.

According to him, the mausoleum complex, which includes the tomb and two podiums that were built later has been without major repairs for over 80 years. Only in 1973 the facade of the building was renovated.

The tourist access to the mausoleum was closed off in September. The building in its present form was built in the 1930s by architect Shchusev.
