Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced the placements of missile defense systems Patriot, received from Ankara's NATO allies. They will be set up at the south-east of the country - in Adana, Gaziantep and Kahramanmaras. Deployment of the Patriot systems will be followed by the placement of 400 soldiers from each state, which responded to Ankara's call to place systems - the U.S., Germany and the Netherlands. Meanwhile, the Russian Defense Ministry denied reports about sending special forces to Syria. "The Navy of the Russian Federation fulfills its tasks in various parts of the globe. No decisions about the direction of special forces on the ships of the Navy had been taken, it's all nonsense," - said Deputy Defense Minister Anatoly Antonov.
Commenting on Russia's position on Syria at his big press conference, President Vladimir Putin said: "We are not concerned about the fate of the Assad regime. We understand what's going on and that the family is 40 years in power. Of course, a change is in demand. We are more concerned about what would happen next. We just do not want that the current opposition, when it becomes the power, will fight the current government, which will go to the opposition, and so it will go on forever ... We advocate such a solution to the problem, which would save the region and the country from decay and ongoing civil war. Our proposal, our position is not to retain Assad and his regime in power at any cost, but to let people first agree among themselves about how they will live on, what will ensure their safety and participation in government, and then they should begin to change in accordance with these agreements, the existing order of things; not the reverse, when everything is dispersed and destroyed, and then people try to negotiate. I think that the agreement on the basis of a military victory is irrelevant and can not be effective. Well, what comes next, depends primarily on the Syrian people. "
And yesterday, at a press conference in Moscow, Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran, Hossein Amir Abdollahiyan voiced the position of Tehran: "Tehran and Moscow have a common position. We proceed from the fact that the only way to solve the Syrian issue is a political dialogue. Continuation of violence, terrorist attacks only exacerbate the situation. Terrorists patronize some foreign countries. These are the people who are armed terrorists, and support the state of war in the country. We therefore call on both sides - the government and the opposition - to end the violence.
Iran has six-point plan to address the Syrian issue. These are the cessation of violence and the national dialogue. We have already taken some steps to implement these two points. National dialogue was held three weeks ago in Tehran with wide public. The second stage of this national dialogue is to be held in Damascus. At one time, the dialogue was conducted among government forces, opposition, and indigenous representatives of the Syrian people in Tehran. The next dialogue will be held in Damascus.
The third point is the creation of a government of national reconciliation.
The fourth point is the help for the people of Syria with the onset of winter. Iran boosts its aid by land and by air service.
The fifth point is the release of prisoners. This applies to those people who have committed crimes against the Syrian people.
The sixth point is media access to all echelons of Syrian society. The Syrian government, genuine representatives of Syria and the opposition agree with the Iranian plan.
Iran will support Syria in its resistance. We believe that any external influence on the decision of the Syrian problem would be contrary to international law. The Syrian people, in a democratic and quiet environment, determined the fate of the population and the country. Bashar al-Assad became the President of Syria through elections, and any change in the political life of the country should also be conducted by political means."
Hossein Amir Abdollahiyan also said that Moscow and Tehran are now discussing the Bahrain problem: "In this country, too, is a real crisis, because people can not get an answer to their peaceful demands. Suppression of the masses continues. In recent days, many people have been arrested. Governmental forces, through the use of poisonous gases. destroy and suppress the Bahraini people. Although the population of Bahrain is not as numerous, we are witnessing the death of many people in this country every day. The decision of Bahrain problem is also a purely political issue, and effective national dialogue is the only way to solve it."
