First female minister in Iran dismissed

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has dismissed the Minister of Health,

Marzieh Vahid-Dastjerdi, the first woman to hold the post of minister in

Iran since the Islamic Revolution.

 

Mohammadhasan Tarighat Monfared was appointed the acting minister.

 

Recently Dastjerdi made a statement that the central bank is not issuing

U.S. currency to the MOH to purchase drugs abroad. Dastjerdi warned that

the situation with the lack of drugs is dangerous and will deteriorate

unless appropriate measures are taken.
