Russian president grants French actor Depardieu citizenship

Russian President Vladimir Putin has granted French actor Gerard Depardieu, born in 1948, Russian citizenship, the Kremlin reports.

The actor had published a letter to French Prime Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault, expatriating himself. Depardieu moved to Neshan in the Hainaut Province of Belgium. He noted interests in Russia and Montenegro.
