Turkey to continue importing Algerian gas for 10 years

Turkish Energy Minister Taner Yildiz said that the contract on imports of Algerian gas to Turkey had been extended by 10 years increase 4 billion cubic meters of imports 1.5-fold.

The gas deal was signed in 1988, came into force in 1994 and expires in 2014. Turkey purchases a total of 51 billion cubic meters of gas in Azerbaijan, Russia, iran, Nigeria and Algeria.
